Your pool tiles help protect your pool structure. Without them, water would be able to damage surrounding materials which could ruin your pool. Since they are essential, they need to be maintained and checked regularly.
Here are 3 signs that your pool tiles need to be replaced.
Cracked Tiles
Cracked tiles can be a massive issue. If your tiles are cracked, your pool is losing protection and any water that seeps through can create structural damage. It can also be an indication that your pool structure may have weakened over time. So, it is best to check your tiles for any other damage.
Grout
You may notice that grout has accumulated in between your pool tiles. This will create open spaces between the tiles, which can allow debris and grime to build up. If debris or grime build up, you may also need to get your pool professionally cleaned to remove it. If this is the case, you may be able to get away with just having the grout redone as opposed to tile replacement. This is less of a hassle, so it is best to catch it early.
Missing Tiles
If you notice that any tiles are missing, then you need to replace them immediately. Considering you may not know how long they have been missing for, you don’t know what damage could have occurred. It is best to have a professional come and do a pool inspection so you can see if you need to repair any other damage.
Uneven Pool Surface
Your pool surface can appear uneven if there is any damage to your pool. It can indicate that your pool tiles are not intact as well. So, keep an eye on your pool surface!
